Year 5 visited the Royal Observatory’s Planetarium for a fascinating trip this week! We flew into space, examining the celestial bodies we can see in our solar system and others that we can’t. The show was full of fascinating facts. For example, did you know that the Moon is slowly moving away from the Earth at a speed of approximately 3.5cm per year? We also saw the Meridian Line which marks where the Earth is divided into East and West. You can see a picture of us standing half in the east and half in the west below! Our journey on the DLR was equally exciting for some of us and the views at the top of Greenwich Hill were out of this world too!
