In history, Year 2 have been learning how we find out about the past from different sources. As part of our local history study, we visited the Camden Local History and Archives Centre in Holborn. The archivists brought out lots of original documents to help us learn about the history of our school and local area. We discovered so many fascinating things from census records, maps, photographs and many other stypes of sources! For example, using a plan view of the school, we found out that in the Victorian times (when the separate boys’ and girls’ entrances to our school were still used), the bottom playground used to be just for ‘girls and infants’ and the top playground was just for boys. We are very glad that’s not the case any more!
