In Year 3, we have been learning all about Ancient Egypt this term. We have been looking at lots of art from the Ancient Egyptian period and thinking about what information historians can get from looking closely at it. We looked at pictures of Egyptian pharaohs and noticed that they all wore elaborate headdresses to represent their power and control over the Egyptian lands. We used them as inspiration to design our own headdresses using collage techniques. We also learnt about the meanings of the different colours in Egyptian artwork and used this to choose the colours we included in our headdresses so that they reflected the type of ruler we would like to be.
