This morning the two Year 1 classes joined forces to bring to life some dramatic scenes from The Storm Whale. A lonely little boy finds a small beached whale, takes it home and pops it into the bath. We had to decide if he should tell his dad or not and to help us to do that, in pairs, we took the parts of Noi and his dad. We did some ‘freeze framing’, wrote some thought bubbles, wrote reasons why he should, and why he shouldn’t tell his dad and then, finally, we had ‘conscience alley’ when we had to give Noi all the reasons why, or why not, to tell his dad about the whale in the bath, using persuasive language.
