We are reading a story set in the dark woods in the mountains of a far-away land in the North.

The Ice Palace begins where A young boy called Ivan loses his brother to the dreaded Starjik.

Starjik comes with his pack of wolves every winter and when he leaves a village, a child from that village vanishes! They are never seen again…

We had to create a winter and a summer scene, to show what the characters in the story were feeling.

We made these freeze-frames.
