In Science year 5 is learning about materials and today we had a go at separating different materials. When entering the classroom, we were presented with a horrible looking alien soup. But what was in it? We started with the reversible changes that were made to the soup; we took out paperclips with a magnet, rice with sieves and then we managed to take out sand with filter paper. Then we were left with a clear liquid. Is it just water? We will find out next week when we can see what is left when the water has evaporated from our soup…
