This half term we have been reading Mr Gumpy’s Outing by John Burningham. We were  surprised to find a present in the classroom from Phil the head teacher. He had bought us a toy canal boat and the book Mr Gumpy’s Outing. Of course we wrote letters to Phil to say thank you. We learnt the story and wrote a story map, put the story on the story mountain and finished with innovating the story. To end our topic we had a fantastic trip on the Jenny Wren canal boat, what a lucky bunch of ladybirds we are.
