During this term, the children in Year 3 have been learning a new maths games called SPDQ. The aim of the game is simple – to get four in a row. However, with every roll of the dice the children are required to think careful about what all four operation to maximise each go and counter. The children have to calculate and decide whether the sum, product, difference or quotient would make the best strategical move to bring them closer to four in a row. They can also block their opponent.
