Year 1 have been reading The Storm Whale, about a little boy, Noi,  who lives on an island. We don’t know what his island is like, but nothing daunted, the children drew very impressive maps of what it MIGHT look like. They included plenty of landscape features such as rivers, forests, beaches, lakes, a smattering of volcanoes and some impressive mountains. They also remembered some features of the built environment like houses, shops and a car park!

Their islands certainly looked like interesting places to spend a holiday.
