At the start of the Summer term, Blackbirds had the opportunity to visit The Crick Institute in Kings Cross for a day of science and discovery. The day started with a demonstration of some exciting experiments, which taught us about chemistry, atoms and molecules. We then used our new knowledge to complete a series of experiments to identify a mysterious powder. We had to work together as a team to follow a series of instructions and had the opportunity to use a variety of scientific equipment – it was great fun! After lunch we explored electronics and used special kits to make circuits with a variety of features, including a motor, sound and light. We had a fantastic time at the Crick – well done Blackbirds!
