Next term in English, Year 4 will be learning about and reading Michael Morpurgo’s books. During our author study, we will think about his life and what influenced him to become an author. We will also identify similarities and differences between his books and read lots and lots of books published by this fantastic author.

Why don’t you visit your local library or a book shop and read one of his books.

These are some activities that you could do at home:

– Write a book report.

– Write a poem based on one of the books you have read.

– Character/setting illustrations.

– Language hunt- what descriptive language can you find? Create a word bank and use it to write a short story.

– Write a biography on Michael Morpurgo.
