Fitness Challenge – How active can you be over half term?
Next half term we are focusing on different types of Fitness in PE. With this in mind I want you to be as active as possible over the next few weeks, starting with during half term. To help you with this challenge, why not have a go at some of the apps and/or the Active Globe Challenge below. Which classes and which individuals are going to be the most active? Over to you!
Active Globe Challenge – Log your activity and try to achieve your distance goal
How active can you be? Set yourself a distance target that you would like to cover once you have signed up to at https://activeglobe.net/sign-up. Once you arrive at the web link choose ‘Select Package’ underneath the ‘Individual account’ green box. From there you can use your gmail email address to get signed up. You can then set yourself a target using the map feature. Once this is done all you need to do is be as active as possible and log all the walking, running, swimming etc. that you do on the easy-to-use profile page. Good luck and be active!
For those of you lucky enough to have access to an Iphone why not try these active apps out. They are all available from the App store and are all free.
Moves – This app tracks how many steps you take each day. It then lets you know how far you have travelled at the end of the day. The best thing about it is that once you have turned it on you can forget all about it. As long as the device is placed somewhere on you, like in a pocket for example, the app will work automatically at counting your steps and seeing how active you are being. Can you be the most active out of all your friends?
7 minute workout challenge – This app is only asking you to be active for 7 minutes a day! See how many of these stretches and exercises you can do. Also, how many days in a row can you manage. This will improve your muscular endurance, which is an area we will really be looking to improve next half term.
MotionMaze – Being active really can be fun. See how many of these challenges you can complete. All you need is a small amount of space to move around in. Who said getting fit and being active can’t be fun!
Good luck and stay active!
