We’ve been reading the wonderful Shackleton’s Journey by William Grill and used this gripping tale of Antarctic exploration as inspiration for some writing of our own. We each crafted a book with a dust jacket (using two enormous pieces of A2 paper!) and filled this with illustrations and writing which were just as beautiful as in book we read. As part of our work on pencil drawing and proportions in art, we made portraits of Ernest Shackleton which decorate the first pages of our log books.
