The children in Nursery have been enjoying a variety of maths games in class. ‘Wash my pants’ has been a rip-roaring success, involving the children spinning a spinner and adding the matching colour of underpants to their was basket. We were counting how many we’d collected, how many more we needed to fill the basket and how many there were altogether. Discussion about colour, shape, size, pattern and quantities all came out of this one fun game and the children kept choosing it from the the puzzles shelf to play over and over again. Games like these make wonderful presents. They can often be found in charity shops too. Never underestimate how much fun and learning can come from a game. Which one will you play together next?
