As part of our Science Week, Year 5 were lucky enough to visit the Crick Institute for a hands-on day of scientific learning. In the morning we were given the task of identifying 5 mystery powders using a range of scientific tests. We used a range of scientific equipment and methods, just like real scientists at the Crick Institute! In the afternoon we explored electricity by trying to build a circuit that would switch on a bulb, make a propeller spin and sound a buzzer. Year 5 had a brilliant day and showed fantastic team work, motivation and communication – we definitely have some future scientists in our midst!
