Reception have been investigating the sense of touch today. First we felt mystery balloons filled with marbles, shower gel, salt and cotton wool with our hands. The children then practiced their writing skills with some excellent predictions of what they thought might be inside the balloons.
Next it was time for feeling with our feet and sharing ideas orally. The children took off their shoes and explored different textures in our outside sensory obstacle course! They walked over jelly, sand, water beads, buttons and sponges, generating lots of excitement and exploratory talk.
