Last week we had a vote and it was decided… our favourite fiction book is The Storm Whale by Benji Davies!

We had such fun exploring this story. We built a beach house and even had our own beach, we learned all about whales: how they lived, what they needed, how much they weighed and how long they are. We even explored materials by thinking about the things that may wash up on a beach!

Using art, drama, reading, writing, science and maths we were able to really connect with this story. We used iPads to carry out research and even explored PSHCE topics by thinking about the importance of friendship, different types of families, safety in the home and saying goodbye… a lot of learning!

Now the question is, will we find another story we love as much? The hunt is on!
