Year 1 have been exploring addition and subtraction to play bingo. After making their own bingo boards and selecting six numbers to 30,  the children used to dice find numbers to 20 and their maths skills to either add or subtract them, hoping to be able to cross off a number from their board.

Bingo encouraged us to think quickly and to use our knowledge of number bonds to 10 to carry out the calculations in our heads. We checked our answers on hundred squares and decided it was definitely best to add on from the largest number.
