A group of children from all three year 5 classes went to visit the Guardian offices yesterday to learn about what it is like to work for a big national newspaper. After a glimpse into life at the newspaper’s offices, the children were given the task of making their own front page. Not only did they have to be journalists writing interesting news reports, they also had to do the job of the researcher, sub-editor, picture editor and designer. The children all worked very hard up until the deadline, before which there was a nervous ‘buzz’ in the room as the children tried to perfect their stories and front pages. Just like in real life!
