In 1J we have four very lazy snails. They have been asleep for weeks and weeks and it seems they may have been hibernating. They are no ordinary snails though. They are Giant African Land Snails and are huge, as snails go, so maybe they need plenty of rest.

However, as we are reading the exciting story of The Snail and the Whale by Julia Donaldson in Year 1, we thought it was time to give our sleeping snails a wake up call. They responded well to some warm water, cucumber and lettuce and have been up and about for at least half an hour.

If you would like to see them, do pop into 1J any time. They may or may not be awake!
